The Leopard OS X

According to me the Leopard OS X (mac os x 10.5.X)is the best OS developed by Apple.Leopard is the final version of Mac OS X to support the Power PC.
System requirements:
* Processor must be any Intel, Power PC G5 or G4 (867 MHz and faster)
* DVD drive (for installation of the operating system)
* At least 512 MB of RAM (additional RAM (1 GB) is recommended for development purposes)
* At least 9 GB of disk space available.

According to Apple, Leopard contains over 300 new features as compared to the Tiger (10.4) OS. Leopard introduces new look desktop, a redesigned Dock, Stacks, a semitransparent menu bar, and an updated Finder. Other notable features include an automated backup utility called Time machine, Front Row and Photo Booth are also added which were previously included with only some Mac models.
Automator,Back to My Mac, Mobile Me,Boot Camp, a new look mail application,Parental controls, Preview,Quick Look,Spaces(just like a virtual desktop),etc are another important features added or updated.
There are various security features added as well, Mac OS X does not get PC viruses,Mac OS X offers a multilayered system of protection against viruses and other malicious applications, or malware.
parental control is another feature that is good with a simple setup in Parental Controls preferences, you can manage, monitor, and control the time someone spends the time on the Mac, the sites they visit, and the people they chat with.
Boot camp and Time machine are the two features added in leopard OS that excites me a lot.
Boot camp enables you to install WINDOWS OS (XP or VISTA)whereas the Time machine Enables you to automatically back up your data.
These two features will be described later in detail.
Any Questions ????????????????

mac operating systems

As you know Apple computers work on their own Operating systems . These OS's are based on UNIX.
there are number of operating systems
* The Mac OS Classic family, which was based on Apple's own code
* The Mac OS X operating system, a fusion of the 'classic' Mac OS and NeXTSTEP.
NeXTSTEP is the object-oriented, multitasking operating system developed by NeXT Computer to run on its range of self developed computers, such as the NeXTcube, and later, other computer architectures.
Mac OS classic (mac OS 9 and earlier) is a graphical OS and was criticized because of lack of memoy management and the troubleshooting was a real pain, as it was based on trial and error method and hence very time consuming.
After 2001 Apple came up with quite a few operating systems
* 5.1 Mac OS X Public Beta "Kodiak"
* 5.2 Mac OS X v10.0 "Cheetah"
* 5.3 Mac OS X v10.1 "Puma"
* 5.4 Mac OS X v10.2 "Jaguar"
* 5.5 Mac OS X v10.3 "Panther"
* 5.6 Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger"
* 5.7 Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard"
* 5.8 Mac OS X v10.6 "Snow Leopard"
Public Beta "Kodiak", Puma,and Jaguar are obsolete now.
panther and Tiger are running but has a very limited support
Leopard is up and running.
Snow Leopard is the latest one.
The leopard OSX (mac OSX 10.5)is the best OS as it came with around 300 new features as compared to the TIger (10.4) and others.
Snow leopard (10.5.6) is the upgraded version of leopard (a 64 bit OS,hence you able to save some disk space) with few added options.
such as
restoring from trash (windows has it from years..........)
dock options and installation options are changed as well
and quick time pro is added in OSX itself
Though The SL server is good.
any questions Folks? Go ahead buddddyyyyyy, ask.
There is nothing more fearful than ignorance in action. Goethe
